Mundifios specializes in the production and commercialization of textile yarns. Founded in 1985 and based in Guimarães, the company focuses on regular yarn trading and on the production of special yarns for the apparel, home textiles, technical and functional sectors. By anticipating market needs, Mundifios maintains an extensive product range in stock, ensuring fast, reliable and high-quality service.

1985 – Mundifios was founded in Guimarães. It began as a family-run business. The initial project consisted of a small company dedicated to the commercialisation of textile yarns, with only three employees and a share capital of €500,000.00.
1992 – The company was acquired by a majority shareholder, whose main strategy focused on strengthening its position in both the national and international markets.
1995 – Mundifios was recognised by Dun and Revista Exame as the best textile company.
1999 – The company was certified under the ISO 9001 standard.
2006 – Beginning of the company’s internationalisation process.
2008 – Mundifios was considered by IAPMEI as the leading SME in the textile sector.
2009 – Acquisition of a warehouse with 8,000 m² of covered area to increase storage capacity.
2010 – Celebration of the 25th anniversary and achievement of growth targets of 20% compared with 2009.
2011 – Mundifios was recognised as the best textile company to work for in its segment, an award it has received every year since then.
2012 – Awarding of the PME Excelência status.
2013 – Mundifios was recognised as the third-best textile company in Portugal.
2015 – Mundifios celebrated its 30th anniversary.
2016 – Mundifios became a member of the BCI – Better Cotton Initiative.
2018 – Mundifios reached its goal of achieving a turnover of €100 million.
2019 – Mundifios became a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative supported by the UN. During the same year, the company obtained OCS – Organic Content Standard – and GRS – Global Recycle Standard certifications.
2022 – Mundifios moved to a new building in Ronfe at the beginning of 2022. The facility includes a 12,000-square-metre warehouse, racking with a height of 17 metres and a storage capacity of 11,000 tonnes.
